Robert Woods, President of Bison Logo Corporation, has been named General Chairman of the 2011 Porter Cup Golf Tournament. Restaurant Proprietor Eric Matthews will serve as Vice Chairman.

The Porter Cup will attract more than 80 top-ranked amateur players from around the world. The Tournament will take place from Tuesday, July 26 through Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Niagara Falls Country Club. Woods emphasizes the tournament is open to the public and admission is free.

2011 marks the 23rd consecutive year M&T Bank will serve as the Porter Cup’s Official Tournament Sponsor.

“We are extremely pleased with the expectation of another strong field composed of elite amateurs from across the globe as well as top local talent”, Woods said. He added that in addition to the players who have received an invitation based on past Porter Cup performance or due to their current level of play, an additional eight golfers will earn a spot in the field via a local qualifying tournament which is scheduled for Monday, June 27 at the Niagara Falls Country Club.

“The past several months have been a tremendous experience working with, and learning from, the Tournament Directors, Executive Committee Members and the many volunteers, in preparation for this year’s Porter Cup Tournament,” Woods noted. “I look forward to sharing a wonderful week with all the members and many golf fans.
